BIRTH

Another year has marked
the day when i was born
recalling how it was to cry out loud

in breathing for the first time
in welcoming the air
to fill my lungs

but those were the days
an infant has grown

Questioning how far I've gone?
what I've done
to make life worthwhile
to change the chaotic world
into a just and humane one.
